Laurence and Damien, farmers, had the project of expanding their vineyard (originally 30 ares) by planting grape varieties from elsewhere, thus offering wines different from all those found in the region. This planting came to fruition in April 2021.
In 2018, their daughter Louise settled in the Vézelien area to take over 3.82 hectares of Chardonnay in the Vézelay Appellation; she also became one of the 8 cooperative members of the Vignerons de la Colline Éternelle (Saint-Père). These plots are now managed by the Gilet Family. The family partnered in 2020 and took over 2.25 hectares in the Vézelien area, planting Chardonnay and Melon de Bourgogne. Wanting to see the entire process through and closely follow all the different stages (production - winemaking - marketing), the grapes from the Nanchèvres vineyards are vinified in Précy-le-Sec.
Today, the Gilet Family manages 7.5 hectares. .
This Marselan is a true curiosity. On the land of Pinot Noir, Louise Gilet planted this grape variety, more commonly found in the south of France, where it typically has a rather robust character. Here, however, it reveals a delicate, tangy side with a very low alcohol level. A wine that can start the aperitif and continue throughout the meal, whether it's meat-based, vegetarian, or seafood.
